Black History (Present + Future) Month 2024 - A Picture Book A Day (Books By Black Authors)
Welcome to the Creative Playground
[Audio Format of Post Available at the Bottom]
I have curated a picture book a day for Black History Month with all books written by Black authors. I am a firm believer in picture books being for everyone— literary magic for all ages. [For purchase links, I avoided Amazon to the best of my ability.]
While we should always support literature and media towards our expansion as mirrors, doors, and windows, heritage and identity months should serve as a reminder of that ongoing work.
[For more on heritage and identity months - feel free to listen to our Equity Chats conversation here. Equity Chats is a live podcast I host with two other phenomenal women. Hot Takes in a Brave Space- Pink-colored glasses come off, and our equity lenses come on. We work to decolonize, liberate, and indigenize. From Fairytales to Diets - it’s all up for discussion. We welcome and invite anyone to join the conversation. We are starting up again in March, so stay tuned for topics and dates for discussions for 2024.]
